Tbh u are better fitting a lower model rack and steering colum, the belt u can do away with and the pump, u can use the p/s rack but it is harder than having a normal none p/s rack.
Hello guys and girls.
Has any one done away with their power steering. If so could you give me some info on how long it took and what it involves. I am looking at doing it and don't no if it is a case of whipping the pump out and booking the hoses. Can you do away with the belt or dose that need to be modified as well.
Thanks guys also how heavy is it without the pas as my wife drives the old girl too

The question should be why not!!! My Renault 5 turbo didn't have power steering and I quite liked it.
Why tho ?
None power steering racks are more turns lock to lock. I didn't like the drive at all.
